The Designer.

Originally from Bogota, Colombia, Kathy Sierra has lived in the United States for over 20 years. Her passion for art and design drove her to pursue a career in interior design- intrigued by how space could be transformed from scratch using different materials, textures, and colors.

The inspiration for Kathy’s designs comes from the beautiful city of Miami, where she currently resides. Miami’s cultural diversity springs forth many artistic influences throughout the city. New ideas are continually emerging from fashion, architectural design, and art museums. This creative energy motivates her to constantly evolve her sense of design and push Area Design Studio to the next level.

Kathy graduated from the Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale with a bachelor's degree in Interior Design. She completed her drawing investigation course on Architecture, Interior Design, and History of Fine Arts at Parsons School of Design.
